The Road to the Championship
National Participation
There are 92 NCAA member institutions that sponsor National Collegiate Women’s Beach Volleyball teams and are eligible to compete in the National Championship. All 92 programs support approximately 1,000 Beach Volleyball student-athletes across the country.
Selection Process
The 2027 Beach Volleyball Tournament will consist of 18 teams. Eight of these teams will be automatic qualifiers, while the remaining 10 teams are to be selected at large. All 18 teams will be seeded for the championship.
Selection Show - Sunday, May 2, 2027
The NCAA Division I Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship bracket will be announced on Sunday, May 2 before the first round of competition.
National Championship - May 7-9, 2027
The 2027 NCAA Women's Beach Volleyball Championship will be held at Gulf Shores Public Beach in Gulf Shores, AL.
On Friday, May 7, the first round of single-elimination duals will take place with the winning teams advancing to the national semifinals.
Four single-elimanation quarterfinal duals and two single-elimination semifinal duals will be held on Saturday, May 8. The two winning teams in the semifinals will advance and compete in the single-elimination national championship dual, which will take place on Sunday, May 9, 2027.
